What actually changes
Paid plans increase the included usage allowance for managed AI and phone usage. You can always use your own keys for LLM calls.
- Usage allowance: Free $1/mo, Pro $6/mo, Max $12/mo. Past your allowance, top up $10 for $5 of extra usage in this cycle, or use BYOK for LLM calls.
- Phone calls: No call-count cap is sold as a separate plan limit — outbound calls draw from the same usage allowance. Abuse, fraud, and concurrent-call limits still apply, and phone calling is for US numbers only.
- AI source: Managed, BYOK (OpenAI / Anthropic / Google / OpenAI-compatible), or local (Ollama) — you can switch in Settings.
- Checkout method is independent of plan; card and Bitcoin payment paths are supported where available.

Can I use Viola without paying?
Yes. The Free plan remains available.
What happens if I cancel Pro?
You keep Free plan access.
Do you offer refunds?
Monthly plans are not refunded for the current billing cycle once it has started. Annual plans can be refunded pro-rated if you cancel within the first 14 days of a subscription or renewal. Billing errors are always refundable — contact support within 60 days. See the Terms of Service for full details.
Can I pay with Bitcoin?
Yes. Bitcoin checkout is supported through BTCPay, and no card details are collected for that payment path. The flow still records invoice and wallet metadata needed to confirm payment.
Do I need to pay for multi-room?
No. Multi-room audio sync is free for everyone.
What is included in my usage allowance?
Your plan includes $1, $6, or $12 of usage per month. Free also has a weekly usage allowance. Past your allowance: top up $10 for $5 of extra usage in this cycle, or use your own API key (BYOK) for LLM calls.
Are phone calls capped?
Outbound phone calls draw from the same usage allowance. No call-count cap is sold as a separate plan limit. Viola still applies abuse, fraud, and concurrent-call limits to protect service stability, and phone calling is available for US numbers only.
Can I pay annually?
Yes. Pro is $120/year (two months free) and Max is $200/year (four months free). Usage caps are the same either way.
Is BYOK really free?
Yes. BYOK LLM requests go from your device to your selected provider, not through Viola's managed OpenAI account. You pay your provider directly for the tokens you use.
